Irish Bodycare/Skincare is a family-run company based at the Innovation Centre of the Carlow Institute of Technology in Ireland.
Since 1990 the company has been researching into UVA and UVB sun protection products while producing a small number of our own products.
Irish Bodycare/Skincare is involved in a number of research programmes at the Carlow Institute of Technology and other Institutes in Ireland, which have given the company national and international recognition.
Because of the lack of sun in the British Isles and our usually pale skin type, many people do not build up a natural protection before going on holiday abroad, making them burn easily.
In 1992 Irish Skincare undertook a research programme to resolve this problem. The goal was to produce an easily applied, highly durable, non-staining water-resistant sun filter which could be applied to the skin just once a day.
Because of growing interest in Irish Skincare's products in the United Kingdom a mail order service was set up in 2000 and is based in Belfast.
